Vega Maddux Sterling Pendant Necklace Amethyst Carved Mutton Fat Nephrite Jade

Rare and remarkable sterling necklace by Vega Maddux from 60's - 70's.
The necklace comprises carved mutton fat nephrite jade
and dark amethyst gemstones.
The necklace is approx. 27 inches around neck.

Huge 6 X 4 1/2 inches 3-dImensional pendant 
is made of sterling silver with hand wrought 
Art Nouveau motif leaves and petals 
and bezel set dark amethyst gemstones.
The 4 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches central piece also boasts 
a hand carved fruit motif mutton fat nephrite jade plaque in the middle.
The 3 dangles are approx. 2" long.

The pendant suspended from the necklace 
assembled with oval dark amethyst beads 12 X 8 mm,
faceted round amethyst beads from 8 mm to 7 mm,
and 6 pearls 5 mm each.

The necklace does not have a clasp.

The back of the central piece is signed by
famous Vega Maddux's hand inscribed signature Vega.

There are no purity hallmarks, tested sterling silver.
Total weight is 146 grams.  

Excellent vintage condition 
with beautiful patina on sterling.
