Elegant Whiting & Davis sterling chainmail mesh purse handbag C.1920.
The purse adorned with enamel, carving, sapphire gemstone, and fringes.

This handbag stands out from other mesh handbags by Whiting & Davis.
It is quite large and well decorated.
The frame embellished with intricate hand carving
and polychrome enamel with roses on sky blue background.
The clutch accented with blue sapphire cabochon
and sophisticated open work carving.
The fringes at the bottom add whimsy and movement to the purse.
