This great rendition of a cicada is a stunning example of Edwardian jewelry. 
The cicada is a symbol of immortality and rebirth,
and was a popular motif in Edwardian jewelry.

The brooch is made of 14k gold.
The wings and legs are hand engraved,
the abdomen made of hand carved jade,
the head is made of coral, and eyes are sapphires.
The brooch is 1 1/2" (40 mm) long, 1" (26 mm) wide.

The CC clasp is appropriate for the period.

The brooch is stamped 14K, total weight is 8.9 grams.
