One of a kind Georgian gold filled dog and snake
figurine pendant fob, circa 1820.
The fob is 1 1/2 inches long.
The finely crafted figurine depicts a dog gripping a snake in its teeth,
while the coiled snake appears to bite the dog's snout.
Beautifully detailed engraving creates the texture of the dog's fur
and gives the miniature sculpture remarkable character.
Figurine measures 28 x 13 x 10 mm.
It is suspended from a typical Georgian clasp.
The clasp opens on a hinged pivot and locks securely
with a knurled threaded nut.
The clasp also equipped with a swivel ring at the top.
It measures 16.5 x 7 mm.
There are no hallmarks.
Material: gold filled.
Total pendant weight is 14.7 grams.
Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
