Well crafted 10K gold hand sapphire 2-picture locket pendant C. 1890. Victorian times a hand in jewelry symbolized a gift of friendship or a token of affection.
The front lid of the locket features a well crafted 3-D hand holding a prong set faceted blue sapphire gemstone. The back lid is plain with elaborate engraved scripted monogram. The rhombus shaped locket suspended under the bail designed as a knot with 2 sidebars.
Both interior compartments embellished with machined patterns. Both bezels have clear celluloid intact.
The pendant is 32 mm tall 28 mm wide not counting the jump ring. The hand is 16 X 9 mm.
The locket hallmarked 10K and maker's mark L.B. The weight is 6.9 grams.
The locket snaps closed with a nice click.
Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
