Antique Georgian Flemish Papillon Cross Brooch Croix à la Jeannette Silver Diamond C.1750

Rare, beautiful Flemish cross aka Papillon cross,
aka Croix à la Jeannette brooch.
The full name of this type of a cross is
Croix papillon provençale en or argent et diamants regional.

The rose cut diamonds beam thick
reflections of direct lights, like candle light.
The brooch can be worn as a necklace on a ribbon
(see picture. The ribbon shown for display only)

This brooch is comprised of 3 articulated silver sections
accented with collet set rose cut diamonds.
The backs are closed with silver domes.
The lacy filigree top section also accented with rose cut diamonds.

The whole brooch is 52 mm high.
It is 53 mm wide in the top section.

There are no hallmarks, tested silver.
Total weight is 11.3 grams.

The clasp was replaced with
of a 1900's secure C claps.

Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
