Very pretty Victorian sterling necklace with a bird and padlock C.1890.
The necklace has a convenient front closure.

The central station of the necklace is catching immediate attention.
The upper part of it has a beautifully hand carved bird
on the round back adorned with scrolls around it.
The side scrolls have Etruscan style bars attached, 
one of which has a spring ring clasp.

The padlock pendant underneath symbolizes faithful love.
The bird symbolizes a good news.

The whole center piece is 55 mm wide 40 mm high.
The padlock is 20 mm X 14 mm.

Well crafted panther link chain necklace is 21 1/4 inches around neck.
Chain 10.5 mm wide.

The spring ring stamped STERLING.
The padlock stamped with British sterling hallmarks.
Total weight is 37 grams.
