Amazing cat’s eye green chrysoberyl and diamonds
in 14K gold stick pin, circa 1890.
The center attraction of this well-crafted stick pin
is a luminous green chrysoberyl cabochon
with well-pronounced chatoyancy.
The stone measures approximately 10 mm in diameter
and 7 mm deep, with a high-domed profile,
estimated at approximately 4.5–5.5 carats.
It is set in a multi-prong crown mount
and accented with four sparkling rose-cut diamonds
measuring approximately 2.5 mm across each.
The head measures approximately 16 mm × 16 mm.
The stick pin is 2 5/8" long.
There are no hallmarks, tested 14K gold.
Total weight: 3.7 grams.
Excellent antique condition.
There are natural imperfections in the
Chrysoberyl consistent with its formation and age.
