Antique Georgian 14K 10K Gold Dolphin Snake Watch Chain Necklace C.1820

Rare Georgian 14K and 10K gold graduating link 
watch chain necklace with dolphin or snake head,
hook, and dog clip clasp C. 1820.

Handmade 10K gold chain comprised of crossed links
graduating from 5 mm in the center to 3 mm at the ends.
One end of the chain terminated with
fine detailed 14K gold Dolphine or Snake head
with garnet eyes. It measures 25 X 7 X 7 mm.
The ornate 14K hook with swivel ring
attached to the Dolphin's snout.
The hook measures 36.5 X 14.5 mm (1 3/8" X 9/16").

The "tail" end of the chain is 17 X 6 mm,
It is followed by a 10K gold 26 X 8.5 mm dog clip clasp
with swivel ring.

The whole watch necklace is 14" inches long.

There are no hallmarks.
The chain itself, and the dog clip clasp tested 10K gold.
The Dolphin, the "tail", and the hook tested 14K gold.
Total weight is 28.1 grams.

Very good antique condition commensurate with age.
There is a small drop of old solder visible
where the chain meets the "tail".
It appears to be used for reinforcement of the transition.
