A unique and exceptional sterling silver pendant by Vega Maddux, 
dating from the 1960s to 1970s, 
is elegantly paired with a matching amethyst bead necklace.

This substantial pendant measures 6 by 4.5 inches 
and features a three-dimensional design crafted from sterling silver, 
showcasing hand-wrought Art Nouveau motifs of leaves and petals, 
along with bezel-set dark amethyst gemstones. 
The central piece, measuring 4.5 by 3.5 inches, 
is adorned with a hand-carved fruit motif 
mutton fat nephrite jade plaque at its center. 
Additionally, three dangles extend approximately 2 inches in length.

The pendant is suspended from a necklace 
that measures 27 inches in circumference, 
composed of oval dark amethyst beads measuring 12 by 8 mm, 
faceted round amethyst beads ranging from 8 mm to 7 mm, 
and six pearls, each 5 mm in size.

Notably, the necklace is designed without a clasp.

The reverse side of the central piece 
bears the hand-inscribed signature of the renowned artist Vega Maddux.

While there are no purity hallmarks present, 
the piece has been tested and confirmed as sterling silver. 
The total weight of the item is 146 grams.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition, 
exhibiting a beautiful patina on the sterling silver.
