Rare Victorian 14K gold thick fancy longuard chain necklace
with large cameo slide C.1860.

The scalloped 22 X 23 mm, 13 mm thick slide features 
a 13 X 10 mm hand carved sardonyx cameo in the center.
The cameo set in the filigree bezel with chased surroundings
with taille d'Épargne floral decorations.
The slide can be moved along the chain 
and stays in place where desired.

The sophisticated chain is approx. 43 inches long 3.5 mm thick.
It is terminated with a dog clip clasp with swivel,
measuring 18.5 X 7 mm.

The clasp stamped 14K, the chain stamped 14 
and a makers mark S.
Total weight is 35 grams.

Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
Taille d'Épargne tracery has minor loss of black enamel.
