Exceptionally rare Georgian sterling rose cut diamonds ribbon necklace choker C.1760. Very few Georgian necklaces like this remain intact by now.
The links designed as hand wrought sterling silver flowers accented with old rose cut culet set diamonds. The links sewn to the 22 1/2" black velvet ribbon. The silver section is 10 1/4" long. Small flowers are from 1/4" to 5/16 " across. The central station with 3 dangles is 2 3/16" long. The large 7-petal flower is 1 1/8" across. The dangles are 5/8" long.
There are total of 29 diamonds with central one approx. 3 mm across.
The silver tested sterling. There are hallmarks, which we believe are Dutch.
Total weight is 35 grams.
The necklace closes by making a bow knot.
Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
