Very rare hand painted enamel on porcelain miniature portrait of a real baby
mounted in 18K gold bezel brooch pin C.1860.
The brooch possibly is English.

The baby depicted in bonnet and pink garment,
and is wearing a necklace with a blue ribbon.

The brooch is 34 mm diameter.
There are no hallmarks, the bezel tested 18K gold. 
The needle of the C-clasp tests 10K gold
(made from harder alloy for added durability)
Total weight is 8.2 grams.

Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
