Victorian snake bracelets are highly sought after for their craftsmanship spiritual meanings. The snakes generally symbolize protection and power and ability to ward off evil. Double snakes also symbolize yin and yang powers.
The bracelet depicts 2 snakes coiling around the wearer’s wrist with the heads wrapping around each other. The eyes are ruby cabochons. Rich hue gold bracelet covered with beautiful antique patina and embellished with elaborate hand carved foliage patterns.
The bracelet size is from 5 to 5 1/2” inner circumference for a small wrist. The front is 20 mm wide. It is thick and heavy, weighing 35.2 grams.
There are no hallmarks, tested 18K gold. There are engravings which may read GGRC and GG.
The slide-in clasp and security loop work well.
Very good antique condition commensurate with age. There are a few small dings not affecting the bracelet’s magnificent look.
