Elegant Norwegian filigree vermeil sterling turquoise and enamel necklace 
by Marius Hammer, C.1900.

Famous Norwegian goldsmith and jeweler Marius Hammer 
designed and crafted modern version of traditional Norwegian jewelry
 from 1880 till he retired in 1915.

This easily recognizable necklace bears all signs of Marius Hammer work.
Airy looking filigree central station connects with swag chains to 2 rosettes
with turquoise bead clusters. The chains continue to make up necklace 18” around the neck.

The central station features 2 filigree plaques.
The top one has a turquoise cluster in the center, 3/8” diameter.
3 silvery color white enamel domes are well matching color of turquoise cluster.
The plaque measures 1 1/8” X 7/8”.

Smaller plaque underneath is 7/8” X 3/4”.
It also has a turquoise cluster. There are 2 small milk white enamel adornments.
A silvery white enamel ball is suspended from the plaque.

The central station completed with two 3/8” rosettes with turquoise clusters
and 4 more silvery enamel balls 3/16” each.

The central station with swags is 4” drop when folded rosette to rosette.

The clasp is of bayonet type.

The back of the central plaque is stamped 930S for sterling silver.

The top right (looking at the photo) enamel ball has tiny factory imperfection
which is inconspicuous when the necklace is on the neck.

Excellent antique condition.
