Rare Victorian gold filled double snake hinged bracelet, circa 1880.
The serpent was a beloved motif in Victorian jewelry,
symbolizing eternity, enduring love, wisdom and renewal.
Entwined or paired snakes were particularly evocative
of everlasting devotion and union.
The bracelet features two entwined snake heads,
each set with small garnet eyes.
The substantial band is formed from three parallel tubular sections,
creating the classic coiled serpent design.
The inner circumference measures 6 3/4".
The triple tube band measures 16 mm wide
and approximately 5 mm thick.
Each snake head measures approximately 14.5 mm wide.
The bracelet opens on a hinged section
and is secured with a fitted closure.
There are no hallmarks.
Total weight is 60.3 grams.
Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
