This gorgeous rare button is a signature work of  George W. Shiebler & Co.
A beetle in bamboo bush vector manually chased on sterling domed button.
The button is deliberately crafted uneven to signify manual work.
Japanese aesthetics gained popularity at the last quarter of 19th century.

The button is 1 1/4" diameter.

The button is hallmarked with  George W. Shiebler & Co maker's mark 
and stamped STERLING.

The weight is 9.8 grams.

Excellent antique condition.

George W Shiebler founded his firm in New York in 1876.
The company closed it’s doors in 1910.
