Rare Georgian 14K gold, chalcedony signet wax seal ring C.1790. The ring size is 6 3/4.
The main attraction of the ring is intricate intaglio armorial family crest seal hand carved on very hard chalcedony gemstone. The top of the ring measures 21.5 X 20 mm. The bezel around the seal is from 6.5 to 5 mm high. Fluted open work band with pellets tapers from 10.5 mm at the shoulders to 1.5 mm at the back.
The ring hallmarked 14K and a maker's mark. Total weight is 9.4 grams.
Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
