Antique French Art Deco amber glass necklace C.1930. Three strands of molded and hand-faceted glass beads in warm cognac-amber tones with alternating frosted panels.
The shortest strand is 16 ½″ long, the longest strand 22″ long. Large oval beads measure about 1″ × ½″, round faceted beads about ½″ diameter.
Beads were made in Gablonz (now Jablonec, Czech Republic) for the French jewelry trade and assembled in France. They display the subtle variation and light refraction typical of hand-finished Gablonz craftsmanship.
Hand-linked on brass wire with ornate filigree push-in clasp. The necklace is substantial and elegant — about 275 grams. Brass shows a beautiful antique patina.
Excellent vintage condition. Tiny fleabite chips on a few beads, barely visible, do not detract from the beauty or wearability.
