Rare masterpiece of Austro-Hungarian silversmith Hermann Ratzersdorfer
C. mid 1800's.
Hermann Ratzersdorfer was famous by his high quality silver pieces
inspired by ancient Greek and Roman artifacts.

Die cast silver cape buckles are well crafted with great details.
Each buckle has a high relief Medieval Hungarian warier head in the center and foliage scroll work
on the sides. They are individually wrought and one slightly differs from the others.

Two buckles are stamped on the loops:
a lion's head, Austro-Hungarian hallmark,
letter A for Vienna essay office,
number 4 for 750 silver purity
and HR, Hermann Ratzersdorfer's maker's mark.

Total weight of 4 buckles is 84.8 grams.

The buckles are approx. 4” long, 1 1/16” wide.

Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
