Large Japanese Shibayama heart locket pendant
crafted in sterling silver and stamped 925.

The front is decorated with four inlayed insects created in the
Shibayama technique. The bodies are formed from carved
mother-of-pearl and stone.
The legs and antennae are finely engraved into the surface.
This technique creates a delicate slightly raised effect typical
of Shibayama decorative work.

The locket opens to reveal two compartments for photographs
or small keepsakes.
