Fabulous highly sought after sterling enamel snake necklace,
bracelet, earrings jewelry suite C.1950.
The suite features intricate enamel work depicting a snake or serpent.
Snakes have been a symbol of wiseness and inspired jewelry makers
and wearers since ancient times.
The necklace wearable length is 16 inches
with its body comprised of articulated links, 15 mm the widest.
and the 35 X 20 mm snake head connected to the tail.
The hidden slide-in clasp in the back completes the design.
Matching bracelet is 6 1/2 long with the snake's head 35 X 20 mm
and 14 mm wide links; the clip earrings are 45 X 23 mm.
All 3 pieces of jewelry are stamped
MARGOT DE TAXCO 5554
MADE IN MEXICO STERLING
and the eagle stamp with a number 16 inside.
Total weight is 184 grams.
Very good estate condition.
