Presented is a great specimen of Arts and Crafts movement. After Napoleon’s invasion of Egypt in 1798 – 1801 the interest to all ancient Egyptian sparked in Europe and North America. The craze peaked in late 19th century and continued through 1930’s.
One of the most revered figures was Cleopatra the ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. She was also a diplomat, naval commander, and, what attracts most of the admirers, passionate lover. Many jewelry pieces and other accessories were designed carrying her image.
The top of the ring is designed as highly detailed sepia enamel cameo on porcelain substrate. It framed in brass bezel covered with antique patina. The bezel is mounted in sterling case 1 1/4” diameter, 5/16” thick. The back of the ring is stamped PARIS P&H
The shank of the ring is a masterpiece by itself ancient Egyptian style carved embellishment. The size of the ring is 7.
Silver purity is not hallmarked, tested sterling.
The ring weighs 17 grams.
There are a few hairline scratches on the cameo. Excellent antique condition.
