Presented is a distinctive untreated 
natural dark butterscotch Baltic amber 
bead necklace, circa 1890.
The length of the necklace is 15 1/4 inches.
The high-quality round and oval beads 
exhibit dark butterscotch color. 
They are ranging from 9 mm in diameter at the center 
to 5.5 mm at the ends.

The clasp features hand engraving on the front,
while the opposite side is inscribed 
with the name Virginia.
It measures 13 X 8 mm.
The clasp's tongue and catch were replaced long time ago.
It functions securely, 
although it should be closed with care.

There are no hallmarks present.
The clasp has been tested as 9K gold.

The total weight of the necklace is 11.4 grams.

It is in very good antique condition, 
consistent with its age.
